Outer Banks Plein Air Art
These paintings were made standing in the sand of North Carolina’s Outer Banks – easel in the wind, painting the Atlantic as it happened. Plein air work is painting at its most honest: the light changes by the minute, and the painting keeps the urgency of the moment. My OBX collection captures the barrier islands’ wide beaches, grassy dunes, and ever-moving surf, painted on location and finished with the same archival materials as my studio work. For anyone whose family returns to the Outer Banks year after year, these original plein air paintings hold the place the way a photograph can’t. Each is varnished, signed, and ready to hang, and ships worldwide with a Certificate of Authenticity.
